Produce

This week’s fresh harvest includes a delicious variety of local, seasonal options! Portions of our gardens are slowly transitioning as the cooler climate sets in, so enjoy some of these local finds while you can!! The rest we hope to be able to carry through most of the winter, we shall see!!

  • Beets! 

  • Blueberries (frozen)

  • Cabbage (green or purple)

  • Carrots -- fresh this week is a new jumbo size heirloom you may want to try in your juicing!! We may be able to provide these in bulk at a lower cost, so let us know if you enjoy them!

  • Cauliflower

  • Cherry Tomatoes

  • Daikon Radish—one will serve a family of 3, unique and flavorful! 

  • Eggplant—many varieties (including those with few seeds)!

  • Garlic

  • Green or Red Bell Peppers and other Sweet Pepper Varieties (Yummy, Jimmy Nardello, Lesya, etc.) — rare finds and slowly fading so get them while you can!!

  • Green Beans (bush, filet, and vine varieties of multiple colors and flavors) --slowly fading!

  • Heirloom Tomatoes—Many colors and varieties (including cherry)! Our heirloom paste tomatoes are great for making your favorite sauces, pastes, and for eating! Don't miss the season, it's barely hanging on, in these chillier climes!

  • Herbs—Fresh chives, dill, lavender, lemongrass, mint, oregano, parsley, sage, thyme, and some surprises!! Many dried options! 

  • Hot Pepper Varieties (some that will ignite the pallet of even the most tolerant)!—chili, datil, jalapeño, poblano, serrano, shishito, sugar rush, Thai, and additional chili varieties (fading with the cold so get them while you can and dry them at home for your winter dishes)!

  • Kale (curly)

  • Leeks—Enjoy them in your favorite soup stocks or just enjoy them!

  • Lettuce (whole heads and some mixed)

  • Mixed Greens (limited varieties)

  • Onions â€”Candy onions and white!

  • Potatoes—medium to large Purple, Red Nolans, Kennebecs, and Yukon Golds!! Fresh dug . . . amazing flavor! 

  • Pumpkins and other Winter Squash (and gourde) varieties including winter luxury pumpkins, autumn frost, buttercups, honey boat delicata, honey nut butternut and full-size butternut, green and cream—Thelma Sanders—acorn, Musqee de Provance (Fairytale Pumpkins), spaghetti squash and many more! Enjoy the season of squash and get your potassium punch of the day!

  • Red of Florence, Onion—These oblong, bright red onions have a lot in common with shallots. The red bulbs are packed with anthocyanin, a healthful antioxidant. They are very mild and sweet, great for salads and pickling. A delicious Italian heirloom. Very rare. Enjoy them while they last!

  • Red Radish!

  • Scallions (green onions) â€”super fresh and delicious!

  • Sweet Potatoes

  • Swiss Chard

    As always, our produce is GMO-free and grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides — and we make sure it stays that way, even for crops that are tricky to grow naturally! 

Dairy & Eggs

This week’s options include:

  • Grass-fed cow's milk, butter, buttermilk, cheese (Caciocavallo, cottage, GGC sharp cheddar, semi-soft, washed rind cheese, traditional tomme, semi-firm, smear-ripened, Alpine style premium reserves and a variety of others), French Dip, Kefir (plain), sour cream, yogurt (plain & vanilla), and whipping cream!

Meat Availability

This week’s options (while supplies last) include:

  • Beef Prime Steaks: Filets, NY Strips, Ribeyes and Sirloin Steaks! Denver Steaks as well this week! If you haven't tried them, you will want to! They're also known as "chuck under blade steak" or "boneless cut short rib steak" and are not quite as expensive as the other prime steaks. Compared with other muscles, this one doesn't get much action, which gives the cut extra tenderness and has been ranked as one of the tenderest with plenty of great, deep beefy flavor. It takes a strong hand and an experienced butcher to offer this steak. But the extra effort is worth it!

  • Beef Savory Roasts, Steaks & Ribs: Chuck, Chuck Arm, Rump / Round, Sirloin Tip Roasts and Cubed, Flat Iron, and Mock Tenderloin steaks as well as our favorite Short Ribs (get the box with 2 pkgs for 15% off)!
