Maybe you’ve noticed we’re asking customers more and more to bring their own bag when shopping in the store lately. We really appreciate you joining in on this effort to recycle, repurpose, restore, and regenerate – 4 values which are woven into all that we do at Acorn Acres Farm.

Helps us pass savings on to you and the planet as we try our best to keep costs down and decrease our carbon footprint. Thank you for bringing your bags (boxes, crates, coolers, etc. work too!) We’re all in this together!

Produce

This week’s fresh harvest includes a delicious variety of local, seasonal options! 

  • Beets! 

  • Blueberries (frozen)

  • Cabbage (green or purple)

  • Carrots

  • Cauliflower—we hope!!

  • Cherry Tomatoes

  • Daikon Radish! 

  • Eggplant—many varieties (including those with few seeds)!

  • Garlic

  • Green Onions

  • Green or Red Bell Peppers and other Sweet Pepper Varieties (Yummy, Jimmy Nardello, Lesya, etc.) — rare finds!

  • Green Beans (bush, filet, and vine varieties of multiple colors and flavors

  • Heirloom Tomatoes—Many colors and varieties (including cherry)! Our heirloom paste tomatoes are great for making your favorite sauces, pastes, and for eating! Don't miss the season for eating and storing fresh and nutritious tomato flavors!

  • Herbs—Fresh celery, chives, mint, oregano, parsley, sage, thyme, and some surprises!! Many dried options! 

  • Hot Pepper Varieties (some that will ignite the pallet of even the most tolerant)!—chili, datil, jalapeño, poblano, serrano, shishito, sugar rush, Thai, and additional chili varieties

  • Kale (curly)

  • Leeks are back! Enjoy them in your favorite soup stocks or just enjoy them!

  • Lettuce (whole heads)—We have a limited supply of lettuce this week as our gardens transition!

  • Onions —Candy onions, white, "red" (purple), and longkeepers!

  • Potatoes—medium to large Purple, Red Nolans, Kennebecs, and Yukon Golds!! Fresh dug . . . amazing flavor! 

  • Pumpkins and other Winter Squash varieties including winter luxury pumpkins, honey boat delicata, honey nut butternut and full-size butternut, green and cream—Thelma Sanders—acorn, and spaghetti squash. Enjoy the season of squash and get your potassium punch of the day!

  • Red of Florence, Onion—These oblong, bright red onions have a lot in common with shallots. The red bulbs are packed with anthocyanin, a healthful antioxidant. They are very mild and sweet, great for salads and pickling. A delicious Italian heirloom. Very rare. Enjoy them while they last!

  • Red Radish!

  • Red Raspberries!! Let's see how many weeks we can continue to harvest these special berries!

  • Shiitake—Fresh, Local, and Organically grown on oak logs!

  • Sweet Potatoes—first of the season!

  • Swiss Chard

    As always, our produce is GMO-free and grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides — and we make sure it stays that way, even for crops that are tricky to grow naturally! 

Dairy & Eggs

This week’s options include:

  • Grass-fed cow's milk, butter, buttermilk, cheese (Caciocavallo, cottage, GGC sharp cheddar, semi-soft, washed rind cheese, traditional tomme, semi-firm, smear-ripened, Alpine style premium reserves and a variety of others), French Dip, Kefir (plain), sour cream, yogurt (plain & vanilla), and whipping cream! 

  • Chicken & Duck eggs!

  • Beef Grill Options: Ground Beef and Ground Round, Beef Patties (3 or 4 pk), Suet (for getting your skillet hot, with flavor), and more! We're also carrying The Brooklyn Hot Dog Company dogs: All Beef or Beef & Pork!
